Shuuya Nanahara is having an emo time of it, and gets a slap from Yoshitoki for his troubles. He gets dragged away from the zone before it goes BOOM, and they find a truck to nap in. After a pretty freaky dream, Yoshitoki calls him out on his emo, and then they set off.

Yuka Nakagawa surprises Megumi Etou, and an awkward conversation quickly goes downhill. Guns are drawn and screaming ensues, and then triggers are pulled. [D6]

FTD Part One: VOTE – Yuka Nakagawa vs. Megumi Etou

Megumi: (2) 1
Yuka: (2) 2

(Vote ended as a tie, and last vote is discarded. Yuka wins 2-1.)

RESULT: Yuka KILLS Megumi.

Mizuho Inada's having a hard time keeping her God on a leash as he's wanting her to kill Sakura. Then Yuko wanders out of the bushes, gives a brief rundown on who she's been with what's happened, and then, when talking about Megumi, utters the fatal line - “I only wounded her.” Mizuho gets her protective-streak freak on, and goes for the gun. [D8]

FTD Part One

Shogo Kawada gets shot twice, and loses use of his right arm. A flashback shows that this is possibly the greatest example of cosmic irony in the known universe. After escaping the zone, he goes back to where Yuka is, only to find she's not there. And then he runs into Kazuo. Again. [C7-D7]

Yuka Nakagawa shoots Megumi, and they talk while Megumi's dying, and then Megumi pulls a knife and goes for Yuka. So Yuka, having a large rock to hand, batters Megumi round the head with it. As she's sitting there thinking, Sakimochi pops up to say that no-one's died. Knowing that he's wrong, she turns to look at the body... but it's not there. [D6]

Yuko Sakaki realises that she's done a Hillary and mis-spoke, and appeals to the calm, rational Sakura for help. When that proves ineffective, she goes for the gun that Mizuho's holding. [D8]

FTD Part Two – Mizuho Inada vs. Yuko Sakaki

Mizuho – 4
Yuko – 0

RESULT: Mizuho KILLS Yuko.

Shuuya Nanahara gets the cold hard facts from Yoshitoki about what it means to be the main man's sidekick. A breakdown and recovery later, they're heading off somewhere, when Megumi etou falls out of the bushes and into his arms. [D6]

Megumi Etou takes the shot at Yuka, misses, and gets shot. She tries to stab Yuka, but Yuka's got a damn great big rock and wallops her with it. As she's turned away, Megumi's escaped, and found Shuuya. She gets to pass on her final message of Yukie's crush on Shuuya before a singalong and her death. [D6]

DEATH: Megumi Etou. Eight to go.

Yuka Nakagawa follows the trail of blood to where Shuuya and Yoshitoki are, and she and Shuuya have a long conversation peppered with inappropriate jokes and odd statements. And then Shuuya decides to take her out of the game. [D6]

FTD Part One

Yoshitoki Kuninobu drags Shuuya away after the abortive attempt on Kazuo and Shogo, and they go somewhere quiet for a nap. Yoshitoki's pondering just how easy it would be to put Shuuya out of his misery, before waking the other boy up and going for a walk in the woods.

Well, so much for being caught up on a post by post basis. </grump>

Shogo Kawada puts Chisato out of the Game, and then realises he's been watched by Yuka Nakagawa throughout the whole, violent act. He goes chasing after her, and they eventually hash out an alliance. He's shocked to hear Hirono's name on the report. [C7]

Sakura Ogawa is having an introspective time of it, coming up for twelve hours with no Shuuya. She decides to go back for her gun, but only manages to find her bag and map. She's listening to the report as her brother and H6S are loading up the equipment for their raid on the island. As she moves off to pastures new, she links up with Mizuho, and learns a few home truths about Shuuya. [D8-D6-E8-D8 ]

Megumi Etou is emoing under a cherry tree, internally trying to decide what to do.

Yukja Nakagawa and Shogo have a heart to heart and agree not to kill each other for the time being. Just as they've reached detenté, a shot goes off and Yuka – in a tactically suicidal yet brilliant move – goes running towards it. [C7]

Shuuya Nanahara finally meets up with Yoshitoki Kuninobu and they sit down for a bit, discussing what's gone on. Somehow, I get the feeling that Yohi's not being entirely truthful with Shuuya here. Anyway, there's a race to the mountains, and Yoshi's got the GPS, and leads Shuuya straight into a Zone where five people are all concentrated and it's a DOUBLE VOTE!!!! [G8-C7]

Yuka Nakagawa sees the result of the four-way firefight, and flees, trying to deal with the fact that Shuuya had attempted on Shogo. I believe this is called a “paradigm shift”. Anywhore, she tries to cheer herself up by telling herself she can still win., which freaks her out even more. [C7-D6]

Kazuo Kiriyama gets shot twice, then gets up and makes a tactical retreat with an unseemly amount of haste. He's trying to decide what to do next when Shogo approaches him. [C7-D7]

Kasumi Ren flies in on a Special Government transport to deliver Report Ten, with NO deaths, NO NPC's and FIVE zones. See? The Government isn't totally cruel. Even Program Directors get conjugal visits at Christmas. *SHOT TO HELL* [G7]

Megumi Etou is contemplating her mortality as she's wandering around the island, and she comes across a kitbag. Drinking the water and eating the bread, she notes down ten Danger Zones from memory, and then spies another fallen lump that may or may not be a body... [D4-D6]

...which it is. Megumi Etou is in the position that she never thought she'd be - on top of looking down on Hirono Shimizu. She finally gets to say the words that she's held back all these years, and ends up screaming at the corpse before rushing off to be violently sick. And then Yuka appears behind her. Meg's not having a very good day, is she?? [D6]

Mizuho Inada gives her side of the story to a horrified Shuuya, just as Kayoko puts in an appearance. She recalls how she and Megumi decided to join Kayoko's Tea Ceremony club, and then Shuuya kills Kayoko, and she runs away, too scared of him to think clearly. [E8]

Yoshitoki Kuninobu kills Toshinori Oda in one of the weirdest kills ever seen in a BR – and that, kids, is definitely saying something. He runs away from a maddened Kayoko and into the tangerine trees, only to trip over someone's bag and finds himself a gun. Go team Nobu!! [D5-F8-G8]

Shuuya Nanahara accidentally-on-purpose slashes Kayoko's throat open. Mizuho takes off for parts unknown, and he goes through the bags, and finds himself a tracker. AHA!!! We are also let into why Kouki Abe took the job of handyman at Charity House. The plot is like my homemade custard, thickening visibly. [E8]

Megumi Etou's mother rips her husband a new one for suggesting they get busy replacin' Megumi when she's not even died yet. On the report, she learns of the deaths, and grits her teeth against the pain of the gunshot wound in her arm. [D4]

Kazuo Kiriyama - Oh, here we go again. Right. Kazuo Kiriyama stops thinking of butterflies and starts looking around for food. Finding the corpse of Shinji Mimura, he also discovers some instant rice and goes to a house to cook it. And he gets to thinking that he should be more scared. And then – I can't believe I'm saying this. And then, he manages to trap himself in an inescapable thought loop of ever increasing fear.[D7-D8-C7]

I'm convinced Tomar's doing this to fuck with us, guys. \o/

Kazuo Kiriyama eventually gets himself out of this logic trap with a punch to the wall that convinces him that he's still feeling. After he's eaten the rice, he goes down the mountain, running as fast as he can, and as he spots someone, he decides to kill them to see what feelings this evokes. [C7]

The boys sit down and have a long heart-to-heart over the game, assigned weapons and just about every other subject under the sun. As they move off, Yoshitoki takes control of the GPS unit as they move towards everyone else. As Kazuo attempts on Shogo, Yoshitoki attempts on Kazuo, drawn by the latter's scream. [G8-C7]

Kinpatsu Sakimochi brings Report Nine, with NO deaths, FIVE zones and NO NPC's. From the tone of voice, he's getting a little pissed off with the class. Gulp. [G7]

Mizuho Inada's headlong flight away from the truth is interrupted when she can run no longer. She then starts hearing voices, and gets the once-in-a-lifetime experience of holding a rational, intelligent conversation with her necklace. It tells her that if she kills all the rest of the people on the island, it will save Lady Eto of the Pure Heart. Guess it didn't quite get the newsflash, huh? Just as the Crystal falls silent, who should come along but Sakura Ogawa?? [E8-D8]

Yuko Sakaki takes comfort from the fact that Satomi was a confirmed agnostic in the matter of her death. As she's ambling along, pondering Life, God and the Universe, she comes across two girls, and crouches down to listen. [D8-E8]

Also guest starring Mr. Abe, on the run and loving every minute of it!! [C7-E8]

Megumi Etou shoots Yukie Utsumi, and as Yuko goes crashing through the window and Mayumi falls over dead, she goes over to try and help the class representative. [C4]

Yuko Sakaki gets a knife through the palm from Kazuo for sassing at Hirono, and then runs while the getting is good. She sits down by tree to catch her breath, wondering why she's not heard her Pastor's voice, when she hears an explosion. [D6-D8]

Kayoko Kotohiki gets to watch from front-row seats as Toshinori Oda gets his face smashed in by Yoshitoki Kuninobu. Karma's such a bitch, sometimes. Kayoko threatens Yoshitoki with a gruesome death should he ever cross her path again, and he scampers off, bloody Wiimote in hand. And then she sets off for the lighthouse. OHOHOHO. [D5]

Kazuo Kiriyama Gives Hirono a bollocking for making him hurt Yuko, and she throws down, which ends with him crushing her windpipe. He doesn't realise he's killed her, and when he does, he...

...

...Am I reading this right??

. . .

I am. He cries. Kazuo Kiriyama cries himself to sleep.

Guys. I have nothing. D: [D6-D7]

Yuka Nakagawa's father is ruminating on what the Government promised him to exempt his daughter from the Program, and how that's come back to bite him in the ass.

Shuuya Nanahara has a few words with Mizuho about Shinji's gun, and there's – for once – no major firefight like you would expect. It's at that point that Kayoko comes blundering out of the bushes, waving a gun, and the whole thing goes to hell. Turns out that the guest appearance by Mr. Abe is the herald of a much bigger plot, as Sakura's brother is working hand in glove with the old man to bust them off the island. [E8] FTD Part 1

And then has to run away as she recalled that he said that he'd turned on the gas downstairs. It's only when she gets far enough away not to be hit by falling debris does the lighthouse explode. [C10] DEATH: Yoji Kuramoto

Yuko Sakaki gets the hell out of Dodge after shooting the shit out of Mayumi. Running southwards, she stops at a stream to have a drink, and then hears voices. For a wonder in a BR, they're ACTUAL voices, and not “head” voices. However, it's a pissed-off Hirono and a blissed-out Kazuo. Looks like God's forsaken this member of his flock for the time being. [C4-D6]

Shogo Kawada hears gunfire in the near distance and sets out to investigate. On finding Ryuhei's dead body, he decides that enough is enough, and puts his game!face on. Finding someone nearby, he opens fire. [D7-C7]

Chisato Matsui curses Shogo with her dying breath. :| [C7]

Kazuo Kiriyama and Hirono Shimizu are bickering still when Yuko comes into view. There's a lot of snark back and forth, and Kazuo jumps between them to stop them from pointing guns at each other. It seems that while he's got emotions back, he's completely lost his COMMON SENSE. Hirono gets shot, and then she convinces Kazuo to try and cut Yuko's head off. [D6]

Kinpatsu Sakimochi, Our Great And Shining Leader, gives us Report Number One, with four deaths, four NPCings, one claim and four danger zones. [G7]

Hirono Shimizu is… again in school. This is getting beyond a joke, now. But to be fair, she’s playing a bastard version of Shag, Marry, Push Off Cliff. And then Shogo walks in, and she somewhat Loses Her Cool. On the island, it’s almost ironic how the scene replays itself. She trips over a lamp cord and falls across the room before she gets a good look at him. Unresolved sexual tension? What tension? [H8]

[E4-G5] DEATH: Kyoichi Motobuchi

Tatsumichi Ooki is talking to Izumi about what weapon he got given, and she pulls amachine gun out of her bag. Awkward. And then, to make things even more interesting, Kazushi Niida walks out of the treeline and plops himself down. Ménage à trois, anyone? [H8]

Fumiyo Fujiyoshi is wending her merry way towards the Northern Mountains with Yukiko in tow, when Yukiko decides she needs to use the loo. She runs off to squat behind a bush, and Fumiyo takes five to read the map. Hirono Shimizu… is in school. I’m just gonna stop here, and go and lie down to get over the shock.

[~ELEVATOR MUSIC~]

Okay. And back. Turns out, she’s only there because she’s bored. And on the island, she has the last laugh on the entire class by quoting Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out”. Yes, it is out. Forever. Well played, Hirono. Well played. [G7-H8]

Keita Iijima does what a lot of people do in the Program – rant and rail at the top of their voices at the injustice, before realising that it could bring players to him. So he shuts up. There’s a flashback which shows just why he’s a coward and averse to pain. [H8]

Yumiko Kusaka reveals a little bit about her mother’s life, and inadvertently reveals herself to the person who’s crept up on her while she’s at the clinic by falling off the sofa. CLEVER GIRL THAT ONE. [G9]

Chisato Matsui tries to bring Haruka round just as Yoshimi Yahagi exits the school and begins the two-minute countdown before G7 goes explodey. She wakes her up, only to have Haruka go for her jugular. In a desperate move, she chokes Haruka to death with a fleshlight.

…The jokes just write themselves, here. [G7-G8] DEATH: Haruka Tanizawa. Thirty-eight to go.

Mitsuru Numai meets up with Kazoo Kiriyama, and doesn’t seem to notice that Hiroshi’s body is gently swaying in the surf. A flashback shows that he and the rest of the gang all got tattoos, and he thought he’d be a hardass and get a huge pair of guns done. Silly boy. [H7-J6]

Shuuya Nanahara feels like he’s leaving Yoshitoki out when the basketball teams are announced. On the island, however, he runs into Shinji Mimura, who appears to have a plan. As always. [G7-E6]

Kazuo Kiriyama decided internally to play the game, and asking Hiroshi how competent he is, proceeds to kill him. As you do. He throws the body into the surf, just as Mitsuru Numai strolls up. DUN DUN DUNNNNNN… [J6] DEATH: Hiroshi Kuronaga. Thirty-nine to go.

Yoshimi Yahagi is the last one out of the classroom, and finds that there is nobody waiting for her. None of the bitches, and even no Yoji. She’s heartbroken. Dearie, even I could have told you they won’t wait for you. And she’s off. [G7-G9]

Yuka Nakagawa is quietly freaking the hell out over being in the Program, her thoughts chasing themselves round and round with regards to her family. She doesn’t think that she can play the game. Which is fair enough, until she sees a house with a blinking light on, and creeps up to see who’s taken up residence. You just know this is going to end well. [G7-F6]
